A vintage apothecary specimen…
The Parro Veneficus was a poisonous bird which once frequented the thick brush of South America. It was hunted to extinction when European settlers discovered it’s potent qualities and largely exploited populations for resale in pharmaceutical and medicinal markets. Small quantities of the Parro Veneficus’ head could be mixed and suspended in animal proteins to create powerful sedatives.
